Ossett Albion Res 2 Wakefield
Wakefield Reserves were beaten
2-1 in the East Section Final of the Lancashire League Cup.
Elliott Firth put The Bears in front with a lovely finish in the first
half and Wakefield went in 1-0 up at half time.
The Bears then had a chance to double their lead when they were awarded a
penalty early in the second period, but Conor Glavin fired his spot kick
straight down the middle and the home goalkeeper made a save.
The Bears were made to pay when Ossett equalised following a corner twenty
minutes into the second half.
Ossett then scored a controversial winning goal when a lobbed effort was
allowed to stand, despite the goalscorer appearing to all in the ground
apart from the referee's assistant to be in an offside position.
Ossett now go on to play at West Section winners Bamber Bridge in the
grand final on Thursday night. - Ossett won 2 - 0.

Reserves Beat Guiseley in
Wakefield's reserve side are
through to the next round of the Galaxy Football Lancashire League Cup
after a 2-1 home win against Guiseley.
Elliott Firth scored both Wakefield's goals to put them through.
Wakefield FC player/assistant manager Will Ryder featured in the game, as
part of his comeback from a long term injury. Ryder was hoping to be ready
to play Evo-Stik football before the end of the season, but was feeling
his injury after the match; it seems increasingly likely that Wakefield
supporters will have to wait until the next campaign to see the midfielder
wear a first team shirt once more.
