Emley struck a psychological blow against Stanley for the upcoming FA Trophy 3rd Round tie and got revenge for one of their few defeats this season by taking all three points in this closely fought tie. Bambrook and Nazha went close early on and Hatto saw an effort tipped onto the bar. Stanley responded well but found Cuss in the Emley goal in fine form. After 31 minutes Nazha dummied a pass from Hatto for Wilson to fire home a great effort from 22 yards. Stanley came back and were unlucky not to equalise before the break, the woodwork coming to their rescue this time. Both keepers worked hard to keep the score the same in the second half, but then Simon Jones got his second successive red card, to add to his long list through his career, this was again for a second bookable offence. Stanley had late chances, but Emley held on for the win. Result: Emley 1 Accrington Stanley 0
