Take M 62 West from Huddersfield (changes to M60 West at Junction 18 - go straight ahead) and then join the M 62 West again at Junction 12 - tricky intersection to the right (basically the old M62).
 When approaching Liverpool come off the M62 at Junction 7 and follow A 57 signposted Prescot.
After approximately 2½ miles reach a roundabout. Take 3^rd exit.
After a further ½ mile, turn right at Hope and Anchor pub into Hope Street.
Ground is facing straight ahead.

There is a railway station at Prescot only 1/2 mile from the ground.

Official Directions (from leaving M 62):

Take M 62 West from Huddersfield (changes to M60 West at Junction 18 - go straight ahead) and then join the M 62 West again at Junction 12 - tricky intersection to the right (basically the old M62).
Leave M 62 at Junction 7 and follow signs to Widnes and Halton Stadium (2^nd exit at end of slip road).   
Follow Widnes bypass and pass Focus DIY store on left 
Go into right hand lane and turn right onto Ashley Way.
At first roundabout take second exit. 
At next roundabout go straight on. Go past playing fields on the left and ground is on right. 
Plenty of parking at ground 

Railway station in Widnes, unsure of distance from ground.

My Alternative

(This avoids queues at the end of the A 628 Woodhead Pass.)

Leave Holmfirth and take A 635 over the moors to Greenfield. 
Take A 635 to Mossley and onto Stalybridge. 
Keep on A 635 round Ashton bypass (dual carriageway) and follow signs for M 60. There is a tricky
roundabout at the end of the by pass.
Take A 635 towards Manchester and then join M 60 signposted Stockport.  
Leave M 60 at Junction 4 and join M 56.
Pass Manchester Airport and leave M 56 at Junction 11.

Official Directions (from leaving M 56):

Take 4^th exit on roundabout A 56 signed Warrington.
Go past Daresbury Hotel and at next roundabout turn left signed Widnes & Liverpool. 
Follow A 558 to Expressway A 533 and follow that for about 4 miles.
Then follow signs for Liverpool / M 57.  
Go across Runcorn Bridge and follow signs for Manchester / M 62 and Halton Stadium.  
Leave Expressway and turn right at roundabout.
Go to next roundabout and turn left. 
Go straight on at next roundabout, past playing fields on left and ground is on the right.

Alternative 2:  You can go via the A 628 Woodhead Pass but long queues are usually encountered on
the approach to the M 67.
Take M 67 and follow signs for Manchester Airport on M 60. 
Leave at Junction 4  – join M 56 then follow as above
