Take M 62 West from

Leave M 62 at Junction 18 and take M 60 via East Manchester, Stockport etc to Junction 4
Follow M 56 signs for North Wales, Chester etc
Continue past Manchester Airport
until you reach Junction 7. 
Turn off M 56 and follow signs for Northwich.
Join
M 6 at Junction 19 signposted Birmingham.


Leave M6 at Junction16.
Take A 500 towards Stoke.
Leave A500 at 2nd exit (A34 to Congleton).
At the first major traffic lights continue ahead on the A 5011
When you reach Lawton Gate turn left onto Lawton Road 
Turn right opposite Caradon/Twyfords Factory (500 Yards), into Moorhouse Ave, 
Woodland Court ¼ mile on right. 
No available parking within the ground.  

Ground is about 1/2 mile from Alsager Railway station

Alternative 1:  You can go via the A 628 Woodhead Pass but long queues are usually encountered on the approach to the M 67. 
Take M 67 and follow signs for Manchester Airport, joining M 60.
Leave M 60 at Junction 4 – to join M 56 then follow as above

Alternative 2: Holmfirth and take A 635 over the moors to Greenfield. 
Take A 635 to Mossley and onto Stalybridge.
Turn right to Ashton. Keep on A 635 round Ashton bypass (dual carriageway) and follow signs for M 60. (There is a tricky roundabout at the end of the by pass) 
Take A 635 towards Manchester and then join M 60 signposted Stockport.
 Leave at Junction 4 – to join M 56 then follow as above.

Scenic Route via Woodhead Pass

               Join Woodhead Pass A 628 at either Pensitone or via Dunford Bridge
               As you reach Woodhead take left turn over reservoir bridge onto B 6105 signposted Glossop.
               Continue on B 6105 straight into Glossop and you come to traffic lights with railway station on the 
               right.
               Straight ahead at lights onto A 624 signposted Chapel en le Frith. Turn left at railway bridge onto A6 
               and join Chapel en le Frith bypass at roundabout by Ferrodo works – signed Buxton
               Follow A 6 to Buxton past golf course and drop down steep hill
               At roundabout by railway viaduct turn right towards Buxton Town Centre and then turn onto the ring 
               road and pass in front of the railway station.
               Follow signs A 53 signed posted Leek.
               As you go up the steep hill turn left at signpost A 537 Macclesfield and A 54 Congleton.

               When the two roads divide continue to follow A 54 to Congleton.

When reaching Congleton follow A 34 (South) signs for Newcastle
Eventually you will reach a junction with the A 50 – turn right here (at traffic lights) signposted Alsager 2 miles.
When you reach the traffic lights at Lawton Gate go straight across onto Lawton Road 
Turn right opposite Caradon / Twyfords Factory (500 Yards), into Moorhouse Avenue 
Proceed through estate for about 1/2 mile and turn right into Woodland Court
Ground is behind the houses 
No available parking within the ground.  



Belper Town

Take M 1 South and exit at Junction 28.
Take A 38 signposted Derby 
Leave A 38 at Ripley and take 4th exit on roundabout onto A 610 signposted Ambergate.
At Ambergate is the junction with the A 6 (Hurt Arms Hotel)
Turn left onto the A 6 - signposted Belper.
On reaching Belper the ground is on the right just past the first set of traffic lights.

Ground is about 1/4 mile from Belper Railway Station

Brigg Town

Take M 62 East from West Yorkshire and leave at Junction 18 to join the M 18
Leave M 18 at Junction 5 and join the M 180 signposted Scunthorpe.
Leave M 180 at Junction 4 signposted Scunthorpe East.
At the motorway roundabout turn left.
This brings you to another roundabout
Turn right and follow A 18 signposted Brigg.
In town centre keep following the ring road A 18 signposted Airport and Grimsby
This bears right and then turns sharp left.
After the left turn keep going for approx 100 metres and then turn left again
This is after the Sir John Nelthorpe Lower School and immediately after a bus shelter.
This turning is signposted Football Ground and the road leads straight to the ground.

Ground is about 1/2 mile from Brigg Railway Station.

Scenic Route via Woodhead Pass

Join the Woodhead Pass A 628 at either Penistone or via Dunford Bridge
As you reach Woodhead take left turn over reservoir bridge onto B 6105 signposted Glossop.
Continue on the B 6105 straight into Glossop and you come to traffic lights with railway station on the right.
Carry on straight ahead at the lights onto A 624 signposted Chapel en le Frith. 
Keep on A 624 up steep hill and then down steep hil, through Hayfield, then up another steep hill and again down a steep hill.
Turn left at a railway bridge towards Chapel en le Frith.
At the roundabout by the Ferrodo works take 1st exit to another roundabout and join the Chapel en le Frith bypass (A 6 )
– signed Buxton
Follow the A 6 to Buxton, past a golf course and drop down a steep hill
At roundabout by railway viaduct turn left towards Matlock on A 6.
At Safeway roundabout take 2nd exit (right) on the B5059  (signposted Poole's Cavern and Country Park)
Turn right onto High Street (at London Road Lights) - the A515
Turn right on Buxton Market at Joe Royle's shop.
Turn left onto Concert Place then Hardwick Square South.
Continue forward onto Silverlands. 
Ground is on the right after 400 metres.. (opposite Derbyshire Police Station.)


The Ground is only ½ mile from railway station

At New Ferry signpost take B5136 towards New Ferry.
After approx 1 mile at sign for Lairds Sports Club, turn right down Proctor Road.
Ground is on the left.

Ground is about 1/2 mile from Rock Ferry Railway Station

Take M 67 and follow signs for Manchester Airport, joining M 60.

Continue past Manchester Airport and leave M 56 at Junction 16 - signed North Wales
Follow A 5117 and then at T junction turn left onto A 550 signed Queensbury.
At Queensbury road changes to A 494 then turn left onto A 55 signed North Wales.
Stay on A 55 passing St Asaph and Abergele.
The Colwyn Bay Expressway starts at Llanddulas.
THIS IS WHERE IT GETS TRICKY
Take first exit off the expressway signed Old Colwyn.
At the end of the slip road turn left and go up the hill to a mini roundabout.
Go straight across into Llanelian Road.
The ground is approx 1/2 mile on the right.

Ground is about 1.5 miles from Colwyn Bay Railway station - a walk along the sea front and through the town centre.


My Alternative 1

(This avoids queues at the end of the A 628 Woodhead Pass.)

Leave Holmfirth and take A 635 over the moors to Greenfield. 
Take A 635 to Mossley and onto Stalybridge. 
Keep on A 635 round Ashton bypass (dual carriageway) and follow signs for M 60. There is a tricky
roundabout at the end of the by pass.
Take A 635 towards Manchester and then join M 60 signposted Stockport.  
Leave M 60 at Junction 4 and join M 56.

Take the A 608 signposted Derby
Pass through Brinsley
When entering Eastwood you reach some traffic lights at the top of a hill.
Make sure you are in the left hand lane.
Turn left at the lights - this is Nottingham Road. (the old road)
Go straight through the town centre. 
Look out for a fire station on the right
Take the first right beyond the fire station into Chewton Street.
The ground is 200 yards on the right.

Nearest Railway station is at Langley Mill, nearly 2 miles away.

Turn right at second set of traffic lights into Boothferry Road.

THIS ROUTE IS LONGER THAN THE A 38 THROUGH BURTON BUT EASIER. YOU CAN COME BACK THROUGH BURTON BY FOLLOWING THE SIGNS FOR THE A 38 and M1 NORTH

               Take M 1 south from West Yorkshire.
               Exit M 1 at Junction 23A and join A 42 signposted Birmingham and the South West.
               Continue on the A 42 past Ashby de la Zouch until you arrive at the start of the M 42 motorway.
               Leave the A 42 here.
               Go round the roundabout and take the A 444 north signposted Burton upon Trent.
               There is a large roundabout at Castle Gresley - take the exit for Church Gresley.
               At the traffic island at the top of a hill (Castle Road) is the Miner's Arms pub.
               Veer to the right and keep going uphill – this is Church Street
               Take 2nd left exit onto School Street.
               Take 1st exit onto Moat Street.
               Ground is 100 yards ahead.

The nearest railway station is 4.5 miles away at Burton on Trent

Directions:

Take M1 South and leave at Junction 33.
Turn RIGHT following Sheffield Centre Sign (A630).
Take 3rd Exit from dual carriageway signposted
RING ROAD.
Follow RING ROAD sign at traffic island.
At next junction turn LEFT - A61 Chesterfield / Ringroad. This is a dual carriageway that runs for almost 5 miles passing through numerous traffic lights and over two (2) traffic islands.
Follow Chesterfield sign at all times. 
At 3rd traffic island (just after Graves Tennis Centre) turn LEFT again signposted A61 - Chesterfield.

At next traffic island follow sign for Gosforth Valley.
You are now entering DRONFIELD and the Coach & Horses Cround is at the bottom of the hill on the RIGHT.

Car Parking is available first right after the ground.

Public Transport

The Coach & Horses Ground is not well served by buses.
If travelling from Sheffield the best option is to catch bus service 42 (to Chesterfield) from the Sheffield Central Bus Station. 
Bus frequency from Sheffield is every half an hour on Saturdays, but only every hour weekdays.

However, services returning to Sheffield are infrequent. 

Another option is to catch service 53 (to Low Edges) alighting at the stop after Meadowhead roundabout, near The Moat House Hotel. 

Then continue on foot down the dual carriageway, towards Dronfield / Chesterfield. 
Circumnavigate the large roundabout until you reach The Bowshaw Inn.
Continue left of the Bowshaw for approx half a mile until you reach The Coach & Horses. 
On foot at a steady pace, this should take approx 20 minutes. 

Service 53 frequency is approx every 10 mins.

Continue onto the Black Swan pub on the left.
Turn right into Butt Hole Lane - ground is 100 yards.

Nearest railway station is nearly 4 miles away at Louborough
You can catch a bus outside the station to Shepshed and get off at the top of Butt Hole Lane
 (I know - I have done it!)

Proceed onto A 616, sigposted Manchester for about 2 miles.
Exit at slip road for Stocksbridge on the A 6102.
After 1/4 mile turn right at traffic lights and proceed into Stocksbridge on the B 6088
Pass the clock tower on the hillside above you on the left
Turn immediately left up Nanny Hill (very steep).
Proceed up the hill for about 1/2 mile.
Ground is on the left.

Nearest railway station is Penistone, about 3.5 miles from the ground.

Warrington Town

Official Directions (via M 62):

Take M 62 West from West Yorkshire (changes to M60 West at Junction 18 - go straight ahead) and then join the M 62 West again at Junction 12 - tricky intersection to the right (basically the old M62).
Leave M 62 at Junction 9 and follow signs to Warrington Town centre.
Negotiate the Town Centre looking for the A 49 South.
Travel 1 mile south on the A 49
Turn left at traffic lights into Loushers Lane.
Ground is 1/2 mile on the right.

Ground is 1.5 miles from Warrington Central Railway Station


My Alternative 1 This avoids Warrington Town Centre

(This avoids queues at the end of the A 628 Woodhead Pass.)
